The concept behind Kaleidoscope is to reflect the pedestrian's image throughout the installation, merging the person's image with the image of the Artemide lights. The Artemide pendant will be embedded in the installation amidst points of intersection of many reflections. The material is metalized plastic film, which is filled with helium. The installation is composed of three sizes of triangle air pockets. Kaleidoscope is extremely light weight, being made of foil balloon material, and quick to install. Changing the scale of the pieces creates an infinaty refraction within the given angle. The project will bathe the urban sidewalk with a refraction of light creating and immersive ever-changing enviroment. This will creat a fresh perspective of Artemide lighting fixtures and would materialize their potential to enhance the quality of life.

This project was produced for Atelier Carmen Malvar. This inflatable design, was a proposal for a storefront installation. The material was made of metalic plastic (helium ballons), and the seems were heat sealed. The 3d modeling was done in the software program Rhino, and rendered in 3D-Studio MAX.
