data-mid="3068045" border="0" align="left"/> Material exploration was the main focus of this concept design package for the renovation of the Armani retail store on Madison Avenue. The CNC milling of various materials allowed affect and performance to be tested from the beginning. Thus becoming an integrated feedback between possible design trajectories. Materials are embedded with designed behaviours that might have the potential to change throughout the life of the space. Creating the possibilities for a change in affect, which would become greater within an extended period of time. Thus becoming metamaterials gaining their properties from structure rather than composition, using the inclusion of small inhomogeneities to enact effective macroscopic behavior. This logic capitalizes on the inevitable entropy of a material in a retail condition and attempts to create a material which only increases in beauty and performance with time. <img I was there recently on a business trip and was instantly drawn the to graffiti of the city. The act of drifting through the city and finding the unexpected. Most of the graffiti in Madrid is strangely contained or preserved. The first shot is taking in an area which is on a threshold between the upper class and large prostitution area of the city. the graffii attempts to climb the fortified first level of the apartment building.
